I dont know how I write this post , when I remember that time I really scare ...
That day , I had several palpitations , then at night I had tachycardia
.My husband and I went to emergency . My tachycardia type was SVT
(supraventricular tachycardia) and
my heart rate was at 160.. Emergency doctor
applied medication , but then unfortunately my heart rate jumped up to 240 ...
then they forwarded me to a bigger hospital via ambulance. At that hospital doctors
succeded to return my heart to normal beat rates in 3 hours . Yees "3 hours" ...
That hospital’s cardiologist told us that , there was a second path in my heart, when the blood bypass these paths the
tachycardia became inevitable , this could be solved with EPS Catheter
Ablation...
Then we found a rhythm specialist and showed my ecg results .
He gave information about the second path and told that : "these paths (tissues) are normally ruptured from the main path while heart is forming in placenta. But sometimes they dont rupture and stay in the heart. With EPS (electrophysiological study) , we shall
identify the arrythm type of SVT and then apply catheter ablation. We shall
appy Radio Frequency (RF) to these secondary paths ,burn the paths to turn them
into cartilage. Once they turned into cartilage , blood shall not bypass it" Scary right ? Anyway we accepted operation.
And operation day arrived... I went to hospital , (you should
be hungry). Assistants of the doctor prepared me , and took me to EPS
Laboratory.
Putting catheters into my groin , doctors reached to heart and generated tachycardias, after these tachycardias , approximately 5
min later , my own Tachycardia started. Doctor identified the Tachycardia type, then he ordered Electrical Engineer to give RF . Then they started to burn
these additional paths ..
Operation took 2 hours , normally it lasts 1 hour or less,
but they found several paths in my heart and spent too much effort to
eliminate tachycardias
If you ask "Does it hurt?" I can say easily "Not too much"
After operation , there are 1 month, 3 month and 1 year
controls. Thanks God, My operation was successful and I havent had any SVT attack since 2011..By the way my doctor doesnt give me permission for pregnancy for 1 year.
After this successful operation , my mood was so bad that
I went into a depression.
This depression worsened day by day and hence, more Phobias and overdose anxiety and more PANIC ATTACK entered into my life.
My cardiologist told me that Panic Attack patients , after
operation , are recovered from not only Tachycardia but also Panic Attack. In my
case the situation was different ..
Thanksfully , I got rid of these Tacyhcardias , but Phobias
and Panic Attacks were still with me stealing all of my life standards...
When I look at past, I regret not to going to psychologist
at that time, I mean "depression" time.. I guess if I started to therapies at that time I would not become phobic , anxious , panic that much.
If you have tachycardias I recommend you go to cardiologist specialized
in heart ryhtm issues..There are several methods to eliminate those
tachycardias.Even for Atrial Fibrillation AF , they apply this catheter
ablation technique ( but not burning
, freezing) as my doc said.
The most important issue is to find the right doctor at the
right time....
