Long time , I couldnt go out of the city via intercity
passenger buses. I could only go 1 –hour- long distance with our car at the
back seat.
This summer , I added one more success to my phobia battle.
Here is the story of beating this phobia :
It was a hot summer evening. My husband got a call and had
to go out of the country for business purposes. He would go to an unsafe
country in Middle East. That situation brought me some
anxiety. He recommended me go to my mom’s summer house in another city 2hour awy from our city.
anxiety. He recommended me go to my mom’s summer house in another city 2hour awy from our city.
I scared but it was worth to try . Since 7 years , I couldnt
go anywhere by myself due to my fears.
I would give it a try . I accepted the offer , and my
husband took my son and I to Intercity Bus Station , we got our tickets. My
heart was beating at a rate higher than 100! My cells were full with anxiety!
we took our seats with my son , my husband introduced me new
systems in the bus, as I really didnt know anything about new developments in
the technology buses normally. Anyway, that was really good, since I could
spend my time by watching comedy film or playing game or watching tv whatheve I
prefer, during the travel. Bus
departured, oh my God my screen was out of the service! I called the staff and
asked him to solve the problem. He excused , but the problem was technical and
couldnt be solved at the moment. The left side of the bus was ok , but my side
had the problem.
Why ? Is it because of Murphy Law ? No
pleaasssssssssssssssseeeeeeeeeee.....
Those were my inner screams. I tried to apply the methods I learned during
EMDR therapy , and I felt abit relax .Then my husband called me , and I told
him the problem. He suggested me to ask the staff whether my son and I could
change our seats and pass to the left side.
Oo yes , why couldnt I think that before?!
You know fears never allow you think healthy....
Anyway we changed our seats and I watched film, played game,
chat with my son , look around the roads, ... enjoyed the trip.
And again I was the winner ........
